Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into an ethnically diverse family. Both her parents are both English. She was raised in a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. In London, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting certificate was earned. At the academy and performing in numerous stage plays, including King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began acting with Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. After this success, Madekwe was cast as Elisha on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared on six of the episodes Trexx and Flipside. Madekwe played Bambi on The ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was also the title character in How to lose friends & make people feel alienated, which was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment in the year 2008. Her credits in theatre comprise Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe made her debut in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show aired on The CW for only two episodes before being removed from the air. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was announced in May 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she was a guest in the very first episode of season 3. She was Tituba in the show Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time love, Iddo. The two have collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and he was also on the show with Madekwe on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was born into a huge family living in Hamilton, Ontario. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. The four brothers of Ashley, each of them extremely athletic, played hockey in the winters and baseball in the summer months, which means she basically grew up in parks and arenas. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so when she was 2 1/2 years old she started Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing when she began the Baby Ballet. Ashley performed in competitive tap, jazz and ballet in the high divisions. Additionally, she was awarded the top awards for soloists in every major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more.
