Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. Coleman attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was head of the school and gained straight As in her A-levels. She is disappointed that she did not have a typical college education in her discussion of her Emmerdale experience. Coleman, while still in High School, was part of a theatre group called In Yer Space. They presented the show Crystal Clear for the Edinburgh Festival. A prize was given to her for the performance, while the play was received well. Coleman was offered the role of Jasmine Thomas while she was in auditions at the drama schools. It happened in 2005. Coleman received two nominations in 2007. In the British Soap Awards she was named Best Newcomer, and in the National Television Awards she was nominated as Most Popular Newcomer. In 2009, the British Soap Awards 2009 nominated her in both the Best Actress - Sexiest Feminine and Best Dramatic Performance category. Coleman received a TV Choice Award nomination in the category of Best Actress. On the 21st March, 2012 Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat announced at a press event that Coleman would play the Doctor's companion alongside Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. Moffat chose her for the role due to her being the most efficient in her interactions with Smith and spoke more quickly than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been in the world of entertainment since 1987. She has however been more well-known on television than in films. Of all the roles Eva has appeared in on television shows like Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children and the detective Natalia Boa Vista' in CSI Miami are the two that stand out. The role that she first appeared on television earned two Daytime Emmy nominations, and gave her the opportunity to explore the love of music in her. Eva, in addition to acting, is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. She was married three times and has a daughter from her second husband.
